🔗 Using My Official Links

Check an account: is this number or profile official?

Updated 16 Oct 2026

A WhatsApp number claims to be a shop’s customer service? A TikTok account says it belongs to your favorite influencer? With the free Check an account tool, you can see in seconds whether that item was verified by our team during the certification of a My Official Links page.

No account or sign-up needed. This guide explains what to paste, how to read each result and, just as important, what a result does not say: the tool never labels an account “fake”.

What you can check

Open Check an account and paste one of these:

  • A social media link: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Telegram, Threads or Pinterest. The tool recognizes the network and the handle, even if the link has extra parameters.
  • An @username (for example @shopama).
  • A phone or WhatsApp number, with or without country code, or a wa.me link.
  • An email address.
  • The address or name of a My Official Links page.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Copy the item exactly as you received it: the number messaging you, the profile link selling to you, the email that contacted you.
  2. Paste it into the search field of Check an account and run the search.
  3. Read the result (see below) and, if a certificate appears, compare the brand name carefully with the one contacting you.
  4. When in doubt, reach the brand through a channel listed on its certified page — never through the channel that contacted you.

The 4 possible results and what they mean

✅ “This account is official”

The item is on a certified page (blue badge), it was verified during certification and has not changed since. You see a certificate showing when the page joined My Official Links, when it was certified, when each account was verified, and a signed certificate code in the format MOL-XXXX-XXXX. When an official account exists, other pages reusing the same link or number are not shown.

“Appears on a certified page but not yet verified”

The item was added to a certified page after certification. The page is genuine, but this specific item has not been checked by our team yet. Stay careful before paying.

⚠️ “Found on a non-certified page”

The item is on a My Official Links page that is not certified. That does not mean it is fake, only that nobody has verified it. Take the usual precautions.

“Not found”

Nothing matches. The tool never says “fake”: the brand may simply not be with us yet, and namesakes exist. Suggestions shown are only certified pages with a similar name, with their verified account on the same network when there is one.

Searching by name: watch out for namesakes

If you type a name, the tool only shows certified pages that are online. Several brands can share a name: the category and city shown help you pick the right one. A page that is not certified with us is not necessarily fake, and a paused page (subscription not renewed) does not appear.

What the tool guarantees — and what it doesn’t

  • It guarantees that a verified item was checked by our team and belonged to the certified page owner at the time of verification.
  • It does not rate the quality of a brand’s products or services.
  • It does not replace your own caution: also read how to spot a fake account.
  • It is not linked to Meta, TikTok or other networks: a My Official Links badge is not a badge from those platforms.

Spotted impersonation? Want to be verifiable?

On every certificate, the “Report impersonation” link lets you alert us. You can also use the report form directly. If someone is pretending to be you, read what to do about identity impersonation.

Are you a brand, a shop or a creator? Make sure your customers can verify you: create your page (14 days free, no card) and then apply for certification.

Frequently asked questions

Is Check an account free?

Yes, completely free and with no sign-up. Paste a link, an @username, a number, an email or a page name, and you get the result right away.

If the result is “not found”, should I treat the account as fake?

No. It only means the item is not on a My Official Links page. You have no confirmation, so be extra careful, especially before paying.

What is the MOL-XXXX-XXXX code for?

It is the certificate code of a certified page. It is signed by our system and lets you refer precisely to a certificate, for example in a report or when talking to the brand.

Can I check a WhatsApp number without the country code?

Yes. Paste the number with or without the country code, or a wa.me link: the tool normalizes it before searching.

Why is an item “not yet verified” on a certified page?

It was added after certification. The page is still genuine, but that item has not been checked. When in doubt, use a channel marked as verified.

One official link, verified.

Gather your real accounts on one page in your name and get it certified: your customers know where to find you, and impostors lose their credibility.
