✅ Verification & blue badge

Facebook and Instagram blue badge: how to get verified

Updated 16 Oct 2026

The blue badge next to a name on Facebook or Instagram reassures your customers and makes life harder for fake accounts. Today there are two different paths at Meta to get one, with rules that change regularly and vary by country.

This guide covers the general principles, where to look in the apps, how to avoid “badge for sale” scams, and how My Official Links certification complements your protection. Important: My Official Links is not affiliated with Meta and cannot grant or speed up a Facebook or Instagram badge.

The two ways to get a badge from Meta

1. Meta Verified (subscription)

Meta offers a paid subscription, Meta Verified, available in many countries for creators and, depending on the plan, for businesses. As a rule, you must meet age and account-activity requirements and confirm your identity with an official ID whose name matches your profile. Price, availability in your country and included benefits depend on the current offer: check them directly in the app — we cannot guarantee them here.

2. Notable-account verification

Meta also verifies accounts of notable people, brands or organizations — those that are widely searched for and featured in several independent news sources. The criteria usually listed are: authentic (a real person or business), unique (one account per person or business, except language accounts), complete (public, with a photo, bio and posts) and notable. Paying does not replace notability, and being notable does not guarantee a badge.

Requirements change often. The official help centers are the reference: help.instagram.com and facebook.com/help.

Where to apply in the apps

Menus vary between versions, but the usual path is:

  1. Open your Instagram or Facebook profile and go to Settings.
  2. Open Accounts Center, which groups your Meta accounts.
  3. Look for Meta Verified. If it doesn’t appear, the offer may not be available yet for your account or country.
  4. For notable-account verification, look in your account settings for an option such as “Request verification”, or search “verification” in the official help center.
  5. Follow the steps, provide the requested information, and wait for an answer only inside the app or through official notifications.

Prepare your account before applying

  • Consistent name: the profile name should match your ID (individual) or registered business name (company).
  • Complete, public profile: clear photo, precise bio, recent and regular posts.
  • Security: turn on two-factor authentication and use an email and phone number you truly control.
  • Consistent presence elsewhere: website, other networks, press articles mentioning you.
  • One official account: avoid several competing accounts for the same brand.

Beware of blue badge scams

Scammers exploit the desire for a badge. Be wary of:

  • any private message offering a “guaranteed blue badge” for money;
  • fake “Meta Support” forms asking for your password or login code;
  • emails or messages threatening to delete your page unless you “confirm” your account through a link.

Meta does not sell badges through middlemen on WhatsApp or Telegram. If you already gave away your login, read hacked Instagram account or hacked Facebook account now.

Why a Meta badge isn’t always enough

A Meta badge protects one account on one platform. But your customers also reach you on WhatsApp, by phone, by email, on TikTok… A scammer can easily set up a fake WhatsApp number in your name without ever touching your verified Instagram.

That is where My Official Links certification comes in. It does not replace the Meta badge and has no connection with it: it certifies that all the channels on your official page (social accounts, WhatsApp numbers, phone numbers, emails, legal name, address) really belong to you:

  • each social account must show your My Official Links page link in its bio;
  • each WhatsApp number receives a WhatsApp call, each other number a regular call, and you give a code;
  • each email sends us a message containing a code;
  • our team checks your legal name and address.

Then anyone can paste your number or @username into Check an account and see whether it is official. No page yet? Create one for free (14-day trial, no card).

Quick checklist

  • Profile complete, public and consistent with my ID or business name.
  • Two-factor authentication on.
  • Looked for Meta Verified in Accounts Center.
  • Requirements and price checked in the app or the official help center, not in a private message.
  • My Official Links page link added to the bio of every network.
  • All my channels gathered and certified on My Official Links.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Instagram blue badge cost?

Meta Verified pricing depends on your country, the platform and the current offer. Check it directly in Accounts Center in the app. Notable-account verification cannot be bought.

Is Meta Verified available in my country?

Availability changes over time. Open Settings, then Accounts Center: if Meta Verified appears, you can subscribe. Otherwise, check Meta’s official help center.

Can My Official Links give me the Instagram blue badge?

No. My Official Links is not affiliated with Meta. Our blue badge appears only on your My Official Links page and in our Check an account tool. It complements the Meta badge; it does not replace it.

Someone offers me the blue badge for a fee. Is it legit?

No. It is a classic scam. Requests are made only from the official app. Never give your password or login codes to a middleman.

My verification request was denied. What now?

Complete your profile, strengthen your public presence and respect the waiting period Meta indicates before reapplying. Meanwhile, certify your channels on My Official Links to reassure customers.

One official link, verified.

Gather your real accounts on one page in your name and get it certified: your customers know where to find you, and impostors lose their credibility.
